Customize the widget

Welcome message

The Welcome message setting is on the Widget Appearance Settings tab, directly below Widget Header Title. To get there, open your robot, go to Service, click the gear icon on your widget’s card and open that tab. See Widget appearance.

Turn it on or off

  • Send The Message: visitors see a welcome message.
  • Don’t Send The Message: no automatic message opens the conversation.

Choosing Send The Message reveals the settings below.

Write the message

Enter the text visitors see when they open the chat. Keep it short and specific: it is the first thing they read, and it sets the tone.

Choose when it appears

Under schedule Message Sending Time, choose right after the visitor arrives, or a delay of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds.

A short delay usually feels more natural: the visitor gets a moment to look at the page first.

Save

Click Save. “Changes saved successfully” confirms it.
